The Fairfield Sidewalk Sales are being held on Saturday July 27, 2013 from 10 to 4 pm rain or shine.
Over 75 vendors are participating in this year’s event, setting up stands and offering a variety of
merchandise for sales along the Post Road from the Heritage Square Shopping Center to the
Promenade at the Brick Walk. Admission to the event, which is being co-sponsored by the Town of
Fairfield and the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce, is free.
Sherman Green will feature activities for children and families including a dunk tank sponsored by
Letarte Swimwear and the Ludlowe Girls Swim Team, as well as a slap shot hockey contest offered
by the Fairfield Ice Academy. Activities will also include a visit by “BB” the Bluefish Mascot, and
“McGruff” the Crime Dog, as well as face painting by Marcia Patterson of “Put on a Happy Face.”
The Bank of Fairfield will be offering a raffle drawing every half-hour with the winner having 30
seconds to grab as much cash as possible in the “Money Machine.” The equivalent of the money
collected will be put into a Bank of Fairfield Savings account, with a minimum of $25 and
maximum of $50.
This year’s Sidewalk Sales event will also feature live musical entertainment at multiple venues
throughout the downtown area. Musicians will be playing from 11 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 4 pm
at the Brick Walk, Sherman Green, near the Fairfield University Bookstore, on Donnelly’s Walk
and in front of the Community Theater.
